What if football left the pitch and was played somewhere else?

At the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, the game changed formats and rules, but not in spirit. Pubill and Nico González faced off against Víctor Romero and Adri Contreras in a game of EA SPORTS FC 26, taking the rivalry and tension of the game to a different arena: a giant screen set up in the stadium.

The idea was simple: put professional players against content creators off the pitch, in a way that naturally connected football, gaming, and digital culture. It wasn’t about explaining the product or building an event around the brands, but about creating an experience true to what EA SPORTS FC and Red Bull represent:dynamism, competition, and a youthful approach to the game. The stadium became the stage; the screen became the playing field. The activation strengthened the partnership in a meaningful way, aligned with their identities and the club environment, without gimmicks or forced messaging. Everything was integrated so the experience could speak for itself, without needing to be highlighted.

It wasn’t meant to be told; it was meant to be played. Because when the idea is clear and the context is right, the activation doesn’t need explanation: it speaks for itself.
